Nickel Release

Allergy to nickel is a common cause of contact dermatitis and about 10% of people in the Western Europe and North America are sensitive to nickel. Initial sensitization frequently occurs from jewellery such as ear studs and other body piercings. Once sensitised, an individual can develop contact dermatitis even in short-term contact with nickel-containing products.
